5-3-6. Disabling Automatic Bidirectional Communication

Bidirectional communication might not be necessary for users who always connect to the same

device. Such users might prefer to disable bidirectional communication to reduce network traffic and

decrease driver response time.

NOTE: Even if “Automatically Update Printer Information” is unchecked, bidirectional communication

can be established manually by using the “Update Now” button. Unchecking “Automatically Update

Printer Information” is not recommended if the driver will be used with PrinterSwitcher. Doing so could

result in unexpected driver behavior and print output.

Configuring Disabling Automatic Bidirectional Communication

Uncheck “Automatically Update Printer Information” in the Accessories tab. Printer Driver for Universal

Print v3.3.0.0 and later supports disabling bidirectional communication.
