the grey values of a photo or another original. Use the

"Text/Photo" mode if the original to be scanned has text as

well as photos. Use "Text/OCR" mode, if you want to start an

OCR run after scanning. The "Drawing" mode is appropriate

for drawings that have only lines and no text or not much

text.

• Density:

There are 7 steps for setting the density (brightness). Step 1

produces a light scan result, step 7 a dark scan result.

• Resolution:

This is where you set the resolution with which the scanner is

to scan the drawing. A higher resolution usually produces

better results, but also a larger quantity of data. The

scanning process takes longer for higher resolutions.

When it comes to resolution, consider the following relations:

The higher the resolution setting from 600 dpi, the smaller

the width you can scan. The following list demonstrates the

relation between resolution setting and possible scanning

width:

Resolution maximum scanning width

0600 dpi 914,4 mm

0900 dpi 609,6 mm

1200 dpi 457,2 mm

The maximum possible scanning length also depends on the

resolution setting. The higher the resolution setting from 600

dpi, the smaller the length you can scan:

Resolution maximum scanning width

0600 dpi 15000 mm

1200 dpi 07500 mm
